MDM DataManager Export Feature

Hello

Is there a feature in MDM Data Manager that would enable me to obtain an excel extract of record details for a pre-defined set of SKUS without having to select each one individually within the Record window.

At Present, we perform free-form search for single SKU export it and then proceed with the next SKU.

The version that we use is SP03 5.5.28.28

Please advise.

Hi Prakash,

You can use the Named Search functionality of MDM which groups the records based on some criteria and it is dynamic i.e. whenever you record has been added and if it satisfies the search criteria defined in Named Search then it automatically become a part of the group. In order to export just set the search criteria to your Named Search and export the records.

How to use the Named Search:

1. Create a record in the table Named Search using Data Manager

2. Set the search criteria e.g. say material group

3. Save the search as Named Search from the menu Search -> Save as Named Search -> {Named Search name}

Hi Prakash,

Jitesh is correct, you can use the NameSearch Functionality of MDM which is dynamic.

Just to add on another option that you can follow is Mask Functionality of MDM. As you have stated that you want to export only the pre-defined records, you can group all those records and create a Mask.

Only difference between Mask and NameSearch is that Mask is Static i.e. the records that you will be adding and creating a Mask will always remain the same, every time you will check the Mask the same set of records will only be displayed.

To Add one or more records to a mask:

1. In the Records pane, select the record(s) you want to add to the Mask

2. Right click on one of the records and choose Add to Mask from the context menu

3. Choose from the cascading hierarchy of menus the mask to which you want to add the records.

Thanks Everyone for your replies. It was very helpful.

However, as of now, we don't have Named search functionality in our MDM system

Still, we managed to achieve what we want using 'Free form Search' > 'Expression' option that is available in our system

Hi,

As of SP06 the feature is not available.

Just a work around u can group them as per certain Criteria then using free form/Drill Down Search you can export the records from DM
