ITSMobile on Symbol 3090 Internet Explorer Function Key F7 problem

Former Member

Hi all,

we created a RF Internet service and try to run it on the standard windows ce internet explorer browser. On Windows XP internet explorer 6.0 the function key F7 is not assigned and correctly catched in mobile.js and translated into the Back function of the normal /scwm/rfui transaction where you can go back every step you made.

On the windows ce internet explorer 6.0 the F7 & F6 keys are assigned to font size increase/decrease and are processed by the main application first and not dispatched to the javascript engine.

Any ideas to remapp or disable the function keys F6 & F7 in internet explorer on windows ce ? Maybe registry or some .ini file ?

Thx to all...

Hi,

I have the same problem.

Did you find a solution?

SAP support replied in his way:

"....

One advice I can suggest you is to try to find in the CE Registry the

key where Function Keys are set for the Internet Explorer: to do so you

could use a CE Registry editor like the free CeRegEditor that you can

find at the link http://ceregeditor.mdsoft.pl/ : you should install and

run it on a PC connected with the mobile device."

But I'm not able to find such a key in CE registry.

Hello,

we have Symbol 3090 BarcodeScanner and have problems with our scanners.

If there is a connection to ITS and after 1- 2 minutes the scanner hangs up and is frozen.

After this you have only the possibility to make an cold boot.

Do you have experience with this problem?

best regards

stefan

Hello all,

The function keys on the mobile device need can be used if the device or browser used has key mapping available. Each device/browser is different, but the documentation from the manufacturer should state it. You can then use the ITS Mobile service parameter ~ITSMOBILEDEVICEINCLUDE to map it correctly. There is an example in the ITSMOBILE01 service.
