Storage section search

Hello,

Can you please know your views in following scenario?

We have stock in old warehouse in stoarage section 111 in bin AB1 , initially we have not created this storage section & bin in new warehouse. We created only storage section 222 with bin AB1 in new warehouse.

Now making smooth stock flow we have to add storage section 111 in new warehouse. Do we need to create new bin for this storage section or we can use same bin number i.e AB1? I adde on more structure with stoarage section 111 in bin AB1 but I could not create same bin with same storage section.Now while uploading in program it is changing storage section from 111 to 222 with the same bin number.

I fear we should not dump to many stock in same storage section.

I feel we need to add new bin number for this new storage section in new warehouse.

Storage section can be created in a storage type , no issue.

But there is a one to one relationship between storage type and bin .

So, you cannot have the same bin number with different storage section in the same storage type.

So, my advice is to create a new bin and use the new storage section in the new bin master data.

you are absolutely right.

I have one doubt I added bin structure with this new storage section & same bin as a trial.System has not allowed to create me same bin in new storage section.

When I run stock upload program system was taking stock from storage section 111 & AB1 & ssending to 920 in first step. (storage type is AAA)

In second step it was taking material from 920 & selecting destination storage section 111 & bin AB1 but after enter it is changing storage section to 222.(storage type is AAA). All material is getting uploaded in storage type AAA ,storage section 222 & bin AB1

I fear it will be mismatch & there will be too more material in only one storage section 222

Please advise.
