Hi
Can anybody tell me what is the exact difference between Enhancement Pack and Support Pack
Thanks in advance
Hai,
EHP's are collection of support packages + new functionalities, enhanced processes and scenarios.
Support packages are collection of Bugs fixes, you can also say collection of SAP Notes.

Check SAP Note: 1064635.

This is incorrect!
SAP has made the disctinction between EHP's and SP's very clear:
-- EHP's contain new functionality
-- SP's contain error corrections
There should not be new functionality in a SP, and there should not be error corrections in a EHP.
Hi Matt,
Sorry but I don't agree with you.
Here is the official snip from ADM100 training and have this info>>
In the past, new functions for an existing release were "hidden" in Support
Packages. This means that Support Packages received not only changes due to
legal requirements and corrected errors, but also some new functions.
<<
As I did a lot of SP implementation I know they are "built" from Correction of instruciton, but also they delivered some new functions, e.g. improving reorganization of tables ... but not such as upgrade.
So I would say this>
EHP's contain new functionality 100%
SP's contain error corrections 99.9% and 0.1% of new functions
Or you have more info and ADM100 should be corrected.
Thanks
Peter
@Peter - Yes, it is true and correct that new functionality used to be delivered in SPs...I started as a consultant in 1998 so I am well aware of this. But, with the advent of EhPs, SAP, including development, has made the demarkation very clear:
- SPs contain bug fixes
- EhPs contain new functionality
They are two separate entities. So, yes, ADM100 should be updated.
@Olivier - Trust me, all of the developers in Walldorf are aware of this (as are the ones in Palo Alto, Sofia, etc...)
Best Regards,
Matt
I thank all of you for helpful answers

Hi Vitthal,
With an enhancement package, you have the option to update only specific subsets
of software components related to specific business functions. Afterward,
you select and activate business functions; the system behavior will change only
where a business function has been activated. This targeted update process is
key within the delivery methodology of enhancement packages. Release upgrades,
on the other hand, required that all software components that were installed in an
SAP software system had to be upgraded regardless of your specific business
needs.
So in terms of effort, SAP enhancement packages are lightweight compared to upgrades. They can be installed unnoticeably as a normal maintenance activity, together with support packages (SPs).
