I want some information regarding ESS in SAP.

Which technology is used for developing ESS in SAP.

Please help me which technology it was developed,,,,,

Please provide the required Document for that.

Hi

With the help of my friends, i came to know its based on Web dynpro java and BSPs.

Now my question is,

http://<ip address>:50000/irj/portal

If we type same Url in the portal, its not showing full pages in the detailed navigation.

Instead of ipaddress if i given http://<hostname>:50000/irj/portal.....Its working fine.For that iam adding hostname and ip address in the c:\windows\system32\etc\host.

<ip address> <hostname>

2.Some one told i have to do some DNS settings in the server.

I dont want this procedures to be used.

Here ESS in SAP is developed on Web dynpro java,,,,,,but we can able to access..

will any one help to come out of this.

Hi,

Which technology is used for developing ESS in SAP.

Depends on the version it can range from HTMLB, Webdynpro Java/ABAP in the front end layer and ABAP.

Hi Ayapparaj,

Is it possible to access the portal Url using the ip address.

I can able to access but its not showing all the pages in the detailed navigation.

1.I dont Want to give DNS settings in the server side.

2.I dont want to add hostname and ipaddress in the **etc---host **notepad.i.e c:\windows\system32\etc\host.

3.VPN is not in my company

Other than that is there any methods available to do that.

Please help me.

It is not always the best practice to use IP address.

Using IP address can give problems pertaining log on tickets and some standard iViews might not work properly.

Unfortunately,you have to either go with addding in hosts file or do some settings in DNS

Thanks for your help.

ESS in SAP which it develops in Web dynpro java only.

By giving ip address or host name we can able to see all the options in the Enterprise portal.

There is no difference.........

I want to login with ipaddress in the Portal Url ...Please tell me the procedure other than what i mentioned....

Please help me to acheive that.

Hi Sushma

You want to access ESS applications right. You should have below things

1) ESS Business Packages are installed in your Portal sucessfully.

2) You should have ESS Role for your log-in id at Portal / Backend

Please check intially above things.

Any clariffications get back to me.

Thanks for ur help,

I developed application in web dynpro.For that i created a role and i import this in enterprise portal. I created 4 pages under that role.

By hostname in the url only,we can able to see all the pages in Detailed Navigation in the portal.

What i posted in the previous Query,

I can able to see first page in Detailed Navigation under that role by typing ip address in the portal Url.

Is it possible (displaying all the pages in the Detailed Navigation) by giving ip address in the portal url.

Please help me to come out of this.

Hi ayyapparaj,

I deleted the ip address and host name (<ip address> <hostname>)in the

path c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\host....

Now i login in to the portal with

1. http://<ip address>:50000/irj/portal.

In this ,first page in the detailed navigation is only displaying.its not

showing remaining pages..

2 . By giving hostname instead of ip address in this case,

http://<hostname>:50000/irj/portal is not working here.....

There is no difference if we login in to portal with ip address .....

even hostname and ip address are present in the path or not.

Please help me.
