Advantages of XI over other middleware

Hi Folks,

We are on ECC 6 version. We need to implement XI as middleware as our client don't have any other middleware with them. We would need to interact with JD Edwards, Mainframes.

We need to present our case for XI to the client. Can anybody let me know the pros and cons of having XI set up done. If there is some related link or presentaion that could be shared, it will be of great help.

A word of caution: Eventually after 1.5-2 years, client will do away with JD Edwards and Mainframes and would just deal in SAP.

Regards,

Jayant

HI,

Process integration provides the infrastructure for business applications, that run in distributed systems. Process integration acts as the messaging middleware for service communication(both SAP and Non-SAP), connectivity, transformation and portability.

Applications can also be connected directly with Web services (including the Web Service Reliable Messaging standard).

Its a Pretty good option for communication between an SAP and Non SAP application systems, we can attain this by the adapters provided by PI.

Hope this thread helps you .

Regards,

Madhu
