Hi all,
In charm, th numbers are automatically assigned for each transaction type
i.e when I create a change request, th number is automatically assigned and if i dont save the transaction number is wasted and could not be used in other change request.
In our case, we are only using charm not the service desk.
My Question is
1. Instead of Automatically assigning the change request number can we assign the number (or) Is there any setting available so that the number gets assigned only when we save the change request.
2. Is there any we can maintain Alpha numeric number range that we can use only for testing purpose. If so, can we give our own combination for testing purpose.
Kindly guide in this issue.

Hi,
for 1) there is a solution for sure. What you are looking for is "early number assignment"
Customizing -> ... -> Change Request Management -> "Define Transaction Types"
Double click your transaction type and uncheck "Early No. Assgt."
For 2), never tried alpha numeric but it should work. You need to define your own number ranges and assign them to your transaction type. Re-assign to numeric ones after testing is done.
Number Range object is CRM_SERVIC
