Rohit gave a very good explanation about DD-Cache.

now, for SQL hitratio, check SAP Note 979140 - ST04: Incorrect vals for "SQL area getratio" in Oracle 10.2

you will need to install a newer patch rto resolve this one... or upgrade to Oracle 10.2.0.4.

SQL area getratio should improve after increase SGA

Chandresh:I would suggest u just to increase the size and then wait

Rohit,

have you read the note I supplied?

Have you ever seen a SQL Area getratio of 0.4% on a normal system??? probably not!

I am sure that increasing SGA will resolve the DD-cache problem.

but the SQL Area getratio problem will be fixed with an Oracle patch as per the SAP note I supplied.

Hello Chandresh,

First of all:have u just started ur SAP system or is running for few days now

If u have just started so wait for few days and then come back

If your system has been running for a longer period of time then in that case you need to relook this

Ideally DD Cache quality should be greated than 90%

If it is not you will need to increase the value of shared pool size with parameter SHARED_POOL_SIZE.

When you increase this you will see the improvement if both of the parameters you have mentioned.
