Planned costs not being copied when creating project based on template

Hi Experts,

We are creating a project based in another project with planned costs on it, but the costs are not being copied.

Any idea on why can this be happening?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Neil

that is correct as per standard SAP

if the planning costs are done using cost element planning or structural planning then these are not copied from operative projects

this is why network costing is useful - as network costing is carried across

Hi Vivendra,

By structural planning, do you mean cj40?

yes

Assuming there is no customizing for that, isn't it?

Hi,

But we are talking about costs planned from an operative project to an operative project, not from template to template. Are we talking about the same scenario?

Sorry, but I think I've seen this working...

yes I am talking about using an operative project to copy and create a new project

Bad news for me

Is there anyway to implement this functionality?

not really, unless you use network costing

Not even through user exits?

if you are using cost element planning via transaction CJR2 then you can use flexible upload - from excel to SAP

I have never had this requirement and it is quite amusing - so can't tell about exits

But I do not believe that there is a exit for this

can check if BADI WORKBREAKDOWN_UPDATE can be used on save

Well, we need to plan costs manually on WBS and then transfer it to projects...thank you very much for all your answers.

Kind regards,

Neil
