how to handle project termination i.e. when a project doesn't follow normal closure procedure.

This is not ideal way , but you can think of set lock master data sys. status on it. and forbidd all type of financial posstings related business txn via user status if you have used.

you can use User Status Profile with "TRMD - Terminated Status and restrict all the changes in the business transcation

this is a business process issue

in the system the project will be closed anyway i.e. status set to CLSD after necessary validation by the business

e.g

A project is started in REL condition and going on

Suddenly client decides not to go through and pays necessary compensation as per contract

immediately TECO it so that no more commitments etc can be raised and no more cost booking

then make sure that all the finanacial transactions are completed and then set CLSD
