NWDS Start up problems

Hi,

My NWDS 7.0.13 is not starting up it says check the log file of .metadata folder.I have treid the option of deleting the metadata folder also reinstalling NWDS but the problem still persist.please help me out.

Hi Nikhil,

Try to start the NWDS in a fresh workspace (you can provide the folder value with -data parameter).

If the problem persists, provide the error details from the .log file under the metadata folder in your this new workspace.

Try to open the .Metadata folder and delete .lock file if any.

Otherwise give exact error with more detail.

Hi

Try this

1.Go to your installation folder for my pc it is "C:\Program Files\SAP\IDE\CE\eclipse".

2.Here u will find one configuration file named "SapNetweaverDeveloperStudio" size is 1 KB

3. Open this and give correct location to your javaw.exe

for me it is C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_06\bin\javaw.exe

hi,

U can also try this out :

go to task manager --> processes --> javaw.exe

delete javaw.exe and try opening ur NWDS.

Hi

Go to Task Manager >Processes>End processes related to NWDS.

Open it.It will work.

Is it showing a workspace poblem?

Did you installled with the same userid which you are currently using?

yes using the same id and i ve closed all the related process even after i restart my pc i face the same problm

Nikhil,

Workspace problem while NWDS startup is due to...

1. Admin rights for your terminal are taken away and the workspace folder is deleted prior to that.

2. NWDS is installed using different user ID and so a workspace config dialog appears for your invocation.

Make sure that you have admin rights temporarily atleast during the workspace creation dialog step.

Yes, You can ask your basis people to set the workspace for you. Make sure they do wid your id only and not the admin id / there own id.
