Hi friends
Greetings.
can anyone tell me how to "maintain Storage System"?
I want to store the original application files in SAP database itself. I have no dedicated system for document storage as i have very few documents say 100 in Nos..
Now my doubt is while creating one new Doc type, selecting the "use KPro" will make the document stored in Kpro or i have to work in "Maintain Storage System". If yes then what is the procedure to do this step.
Because earlier i had created one document type and based on that i creted one DIR in CV01n, i made some attachment of word file with that and assigned it to the material master. But i could not be able to open that attachement from my collegue's computer in the same DIR. Later i thought the attachement was on my computer only, so this time i want to store that attachement in SAP DB.
Plz guide me.

Hi,
Since you have only limited attachments and you want to use sap db,you can do the following settings,
in particular doc type, uncheck kpro and give values (ex. 9999999) under File Size , this wil alow you to store in sap db.
hope this helps u..
Thank You,
Manoj

Hi Manoj sir
Good morning.
sir as you told i have given values (ex. 9999999) under File Size. Now it works fine.Thanx.
still i have some doubt " the vale 999999 means this doc type will store 999999 DIRs? "
what shold i interpret with status of Doc type?...if i want only 2 status, 1 for "in work" another for "release"....will this work fine?
can u forward me one complete process-flow involved in creating one Doc type and storing one drawing with the DIR made from that Doc type?...plz help me in this regard.....As i 'm ABAPer no fuctional consutant of DMS is here.

Hi Prashant
Plz check whether you have checked in the original or not. After attching the original right click checkin where you get an option for selecting the storage areas and select default storage area and then save the dir.

Prasad
