issues in import manager for hierarchy table

Hi,

I created a hierarchy table in my repository of version 5.5 SP06 with 2 display fields( ex: code, title).

while importing hierarchy data in import manager. I can able to map both fields. but in value mapping I can able map only for first display field. for second display field in value map all options are grayed out.

As a result the data impoted to 1 field ie Code. In data manager I can able to view code field perfectly but not title . surprisngly I can able view title at lowest level in hierachy table but not for all fields.

Could you help me out how to do value map for both display fields of hierarchy table in import manager .to get full data of hierarchy table in data manager.

Hi Kiran,

The hierachy mapping in MDM depends on how your hierarchy source is..

You can have a source wherein the entire hierarchy is stored under a singel field with Delimiter.

Or you can have data in multiple fields whcih actually hold an hierachy .

Depending on this you will have to map accordingly in the MDM import manager to import your hierarchy source.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply & useful content.

But in my case my input file contains 8 fields( 4 fields for code , 4 fields for title). my target hierarchy table contains 2 fields both are display fields.

But using partition in import manager I genarated hierarchy for code & title fields. whil doing field mapping. I can able to map both field & value map for first display field. for second display field its allowing to do field map but not value map. As result in datamanager it showiong only code values not title values.
