Hello everybody,

I am facing an issue in which requsitioners are able to select a contract that has expired. However the shopping cart gets failed. How is that an expired contract appears for them to select while creating a shopping cart? What has to be done to avoid this?

Hi Muthuraman,

Yes, it is illegal to select the expired contract.A new contract was already created for the same vendor.

However still the old contract is appearing in the drop down for Source of supply.

There is no error message while saving the SC but SC got failed with error ' Valididy period of the contract expired '

Thanks

Hi Deepthi

As per standard SAP SRM , expired contracts must not dispaly in source of supply. you need to plan for archive them if you have any expired contract.

However you refer this note

Note 1300916 - Shoppin cart -Source of supply improvements

SymptomThe note addresses the following issues in SOS -

-Fixed supplier option is not displayed in the Source of Supply that

is displayed in the Service Order pop up.

When expired contract is assigned as a SOS in SC no message is shown for

that and when the PO gets created from the SC the error is shown there-'Compare Service Agents' button present in Source of supply tab of Detail

section which does not make sense for item type material.

-No Filtering and Sorting facility available on the SOS Tab.

-For a Hierarchy items, when the supplier is assigned from the SC 'Source

of Supply' tab then the contract/inforecord is not assigned to the item.

-For a hierarchy item when we assign the supplier from SC screen and remove

it The SOS list fetched (for assigning) is not same as the original list

that was present, before assigning. Without changing any data, if we move

to some other tab and then select SOS tab, the

removed supplier is still assigned but the information about contract/info

record is removed.

SOS improvements, source of supply

Cause and Prerequisites

-Fixed supplier was shown in Service Order pop up due to wrong position.

-There was no check in SOS for expired contracts.User was able to assign an

expired contract as SOS and no messages were issued for this.

-'Compare Service Agents' was wrongly shown in source of supply deatil

section. Now its shown in the source of supply section.

-Filtering and Sorting facility was not provide in Source of supply. Now it

has been provide.

-Changes are done show consistent data in SOS.

Go to the transaction se91.

Give the message class name 'BBP_PD' and click on the 'Change' button.

In a blank row enter the message number '568' and enter the message short

text as 'Contract expired due to Target Value or Validity Period' and check

the check box 'self-explanatory'.

what version are you working on? Hope you should not get that expired contract while searching it self.

are you facing problem in sourcing cockpit or sc sos tab? what type of contract local or r/3 ?

Save the data.
