Client not found error

Former Member

Hi,

I have configured SLD and am trying to create JCos. I am getting the following error:

com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (103) RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE: Client 100 is not available. Please choose an existing client

But client 100 is existing as I am able to login through the SAP logon pad with this client.

Can someone tell me where the problem lies?

Thanks in advance,

Reena

Hi Reena,

Cross check the Logon group you are using for the Metadata connection.

Also, check if you have an entry in the services file for the R/3 system.

Thanks,

Hi Rajit,

Thanks for the reply.

I cross checked the groups and the entry in the services file. They are correct.

Still unable to solve the problem

Thanks and Regards,

Hi

That should be a problem with Logon groups. Which logon group are you using and is that Logon group active in the R/3 system? Are you using SSO?

If you are using User mapping, try giving the password all CAPS when creating the JCO destination.

Thanks,

Hi Rajit,

I am using the logon groups 'SPACE'. That is the active group in the R/3 system.

No. I am not using SSO.

I tried giving the pwd in caps. Didnt work.

Any other pointers?

Thanks and Regards,

Reena

Hi

I had this problem often and that usually got solved by an entry in the services file, check of logon group in the backend. Occasionaly I had this problem when using SSO and logon tickets.

Check this link if it helps..

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/f6/daea401675752ae10000000a155106/content.htm

Check your JCO trace file and refer to above link. It's got solutions for common JCO problems.

Worst case, restart the J2ee engine and see

Btw, the entry in services file(where the server/sld is running) should be:

sapms<SID> 3600

probably you have the entry as 3601. Check it and modify. And restart the whole m/c.

Thanks,

Rajit

"My services file"... Is that also the services file that the WebAS uses or did you check the file on your workstation?
