Hi Manu ,
I suggest you to Run a Check and update optimizer statistics either using db13 or BRTOOLS
it should solve your problem

Hello manu
Just check the logs \usr\sap\trans\log\slog
\usr\sap\trans\log\ulog
\usr\sap\trans\log\alog for the status of process
if any any background jobs are scheduling or active, pause them using BTCTRNS1 program
resume them using BTCTRNS2 program
Regards
Amar

"REPORTS AFTER PUT" means that ABAP jobs are running.
so, in SM37, check for active jobs. if this is the case, continue to wait.

couple of things
1. in SM50,is the background job doing some actions like updating, deleting or is it stuck up on one action only
2. I would suggest you to login in 000 and check for all the scheduled and released jobs with R*.
If they are in released status just start them and I assure you ur supposr pack will run through
If these thibgs dont help let me know

Have you run it background in dialog? I would suggest Let it run for some more time
check in SM50 whether any processes are running for this pack upgrade, check in SM37 if there are any jobs stuck with released status during the period.
get this info.
