can any explain APO -DP/SNP production support.

Hi sap gurus..

this is suresh ,i am new for APO -DP/SNP production support,

exactly what my role and responsibilities in production support,what i can do

please any one healp me i am very thankful to them.

How did you qualify for such a position if you have no idea what the position entails?

Hi Suresh,

In DP/SNP production support,

1) You need to monitor business related background jobs on daily/weekly/monthly basis

2) You need to analyse and take corrective actions for failed jobs

3) Any production related issue, you may receive tickets and accordingly you need to analyse the issue and find out suitable solutions in line with client

4) Documentation activities if any needs to be carried out

5) For system downtimes/incidents, suitable back ups/job retriggerings needs to be done

6) In DP, updation of CVCs/planning book data extraction if any needs to be carried out.

Hi Suresh Kumar,

The following practices you can adopt during production support.

1) Study the business model of your client and its various processess.

2) Collect the previous issues and resolutions happened

3) Try to match it with system on various issues.

4) Get the overview of important procedures of DP/SNP and how it works like

5) If any issues are found unresolvable, post those issues to SAP or in SDN forum so that you can get quick replies.

As a Production support consultant:

you need to monitor day to day jobs..find out the root cause if any job fails and fix it and if needed reschedule the job.

follow the monthly activity process of the client

Monitor the ticket service center and respond to the tickets and update their status acoordingly.

Coordinate with the users to their issues and resolve them.
