Dear All
I have installed SCM 5.0 IDES in our 64bit system successfully. After this i have installed SAP livecache as per the guide SAP NW04S SR2 Standalone Engine SAP Livecache techonlogy.: Windows. Since i am installing the SAP livecache on the same system where i had installed SCM IDES 5.0 i selected Livecache server option and i have installed successfully. after installtion i checked with LC10 command i could see the green signal. I checked asd per the IDES SCM 5.0 note and proceeded. Now i want to monitor the Livecache thro the DBM tool but when i try to do it it does not show the present livecahe instance but it shows normal options like Add,create etc. usually it should detect the present LC instance. While installing SCM i had selected the livecahe intsnace id : LCi and the control user as default.now when i check the user group in the manage in the windows option i could not the LC user. what to do
OS : windows 2003
LC id : LCI

HI
Sorry for the delay. I had installed the sapgui in the server and checked thro lc10--tools-database manager gui where it picks the DBMGUI and show the instance but when i close the application and try to see thro the DB manager application which is in programs folder it does not detect the instance.
My system 64bit system and 64 bit windows have been installed.
And moreover when i check the user in the manage of the compauters usual user id of <SID>adm of Livecache does not apper. when i checked another production livecache i could see in the user as lctadm and i could login as lctadm but in my present system the user is not created.

Hello,
Let's separate two issues:
1) When you called the database manager GUI from LC10-> liveCache:Monitoring / LCA -> Tools
You will get popup of Database Manager Connect, where you will see
Database server: u2026.
Database Name : u2026
This information is taken from the LCA connection settings.
Could you test the LCA connection in /ndb59 => post results.
The Database Manager Operator section for the user/password is empty &
you need to type them to be able to connect to the database.
By the default database installation the DBM user is control with the password - control.
What errors did you get when you called DBMGUI in LC10?
2) When you will start the DBMGUI on the 64 bit database server, you will see the options add, create, backup, Recover...
You need to add the created database instance first, click add, please let me know what did you type in the field 'Database Server'.
Instead of 'LOCAL' please type 'localhost' in the "Database Server" field & leave the Port as Default, then click add => post the results.
Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina
Hello Bala,
this can be problem with 32bit software in 64bit enviroment
try following when adding database in DBMGUI:
enter "localhost" as the computer name and "7210" as port

Hello Bala,
1) To use the DBMGUI on the Windows 64bit server, please, review the SAP note::
889251 DBMGUI "Create database instance" Windows
2) "i have not installed the DBM GUI in my PC.
When i executed in LC10->livecache Monitoring-tools-Database
ManagerDBM GUI) it shows the following error
from my PC i got this blow error
Error Calling Database Manager (GUI)

whether i should install the sapgui in the server and test it"
You need to install the DBMGUI locally on your PC where the SAPGUI with LC10 is running. See SAP note 386714 to download and install the DBMGUI.
Thank you & best regards, Natalia Khlopina

Hello Bala,
-> Please login to the liveCache server & run the following commands and update with outputs:
sdbregview -l
xinstinfo
dbmcli -s inst_enum
dbmcli -s db_enum
-> Please check that the x_server is running on the liveCache server.
You could start the xserver with command:
x_server start
-> Did you run DBMGUI from /mLC10-> liveCache Monitoring -> Tools?
Did you install the DBMGUI on your PC?
Did you run the DBMGUI on Windows 64 liveCache server?
What is the version of DBMGUI you are using?
-> If the liveCache instance was installed, you could add it to be monitored
using DBBMGUI.
Start DBMGUI
Click add
Type the Database server name & Add
Did you see the liveCache <SID> listed?
Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina
Hi,
In the MaxDB GUI you need to create the entry and you need to give the server details. And then only you can able to monitor the Live Cache.
I hope that you have done integration in LC10.
Mahesh
