Installer SAPNW701ABAPTrial hangs during Kernel Installation

Hi folks,

Anyone came across an issue with the SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP trial installation during the actual Kernel Installation (40% installation point)? I have tried the installation on multiple times and in previous instalments faced issues at end of installation but now my machine gets stuck half way trough this installation.

Any ideas, recommendations are welcome,

I figured this one out myself! However I do want to share the relative simple solution with those whom concerned.

What I failed to mention in my question was that I had installed the latest J2RE version 1.4.2 build 19. After having uninstalled this runtime environment and installed version 1.4.2 build 16 my installation completed successfully!

In short I believe SAP should add the usage of J2RE .4.2 build 16 as a prerequisite for the NetWeaver 7,01 ABAP Trial installation. It is my believe that many unsuccessfull installations mentioned in this forum are caused by an incorrect runtime environment.
