Hi guys,
I need guides for integration of SAP MDM with BI. Detail and step by step.
As I understood two main scenario are there.
1. BI to MDM (Using Inforspokes data consolidation into MDM)
........................................................................................
Some information about Infospokes are required for me.
2. MDM to BI (Persistent connection is required)
........................................................................
To do so,
- Configuration to XI
- Configuration of MDM
- Configuration of BI
I need document where these three steps are focused.
Regards,
Naeem
Please check the [MDM Documentation Center at SAP Service Marketplace|https://service.sap.com/installmdm]. There, you'll find the required installation and configuration guides for SAP NetWeaver MDM 7.1 and 5.5. For interaction with BI, particularly look at the Scenario Configuration Guide for the relevant MDM release.
MDM-BI Integration is also covered in the [MDM Wiki|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/wiki?path=/x/oay], and in the following article series:

Hope this helps,

Hi Naeem,
You can perform MDM integration with BI is two levels.
Firstly using the BI 3.5 system where in data transfer between MDM and BI happens through file exchange mechanism.
The second method is using the BI 7 system where in there are some API connections provided which enable teh BI system to directly interact with the MDM data.
Kindly follow the below links to understand more on this:

Hope It Helped

According to the URL, the defective link seems to be the same as the one given in Priti's response and as the second in the answer: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b01e4269-f744-2b10-929b-fa7b49aa....

Hi Naeem,
If you are using the methods in which BI-MDM integration is done using logical object, then the transfer will happen by DTP, which has to be done manually.
Other than this,in the other method of BI-MDM integration which is done using FTP,data transfer can be automated by using the MDM workflows. This will help in picking up and syndicating the data automatically. This involves ABAP programming to be done at the BI side.
Thanks,
Priti.
Hi Naeem,
For the configuration in SAP MDM-BI, please refer the below articles, which I found very useful in doing the integration:
Integrating MDM with BI using Logical connection
The below are also very useful:
In this integration, there is no role of XI, as the BI and MDM system can talk directly.
We know, XI is basically used as a file transfer mechanism. Since in this case the BI-MDM is a direct integration, the need of XI does not arise.
Hope it helps.
Thanks,
Priti.
