hi,
we are trying to test web dynpro application using eCATT. But we are facing problem in test script creation. we have created one RFC destination of type G and its connection status is OK. but still we are getting the following error message.
"An error probably occurred during the logon to the Web Dynpro target system. Check user name and password in your eCATT target system."
can anyone resolve this error.
When you said the RFC destination was OK, did you just test with the connection test? This tends to just be a ping and can sometimes tell you everything is OK even when it is not. Are you embedding a username and password in the connection?
However it is probably import to note that in general eCatt is no longer released for use with Web Dynpro ABAP. From the online help:
eCATT is not released for Web Dynpro ABAP, see also SAP note 1098009.
Even if you get around your authentication problem, you may still find that the tool doesn't meet your needs.

hi,
plz go through the following link
http://www.sap-press.de/katalog/buecher/htmlleseproben/gp/htmlprobID-58
I believe that the book you linked to is incorrect. It states that "Both Web Dynpro for ABAP and for Java are supported." in the context of eCatt Testing. However the offical product documentation on help.sap.com and OSS notes both state that it is not supported. The offical SAP documentation and OSS notes trump a book. We had wanted to offer support for eCATT, but certain problems lead to the removal of that support. However we do hope to possibly extend eCATT support to Web Dynpro ABAP in a future NetWeaver Enhancement Package.
