Unable to send emails from a domain address...

Former Member

Hi team,

We are facing a problem for an email=particular domain.

For eg..if I send mail from xyz=abc.com to pqr=abc.com the mail is not received at Outlook but under SOST, the status is fine and indicates it is sent.

But if i send mail from xyz=abc.com to samplename-mydomain.com the mail is sent and recieved succesfully.

FYI...we have created SAP USERID "xyz" at our SAP Systems....

Any suggestions please.

Hi Park,

go for the routing test in SCOT:

There is an option of routing test in SCOT

go to SCOT.then utilities and routing test, just fill the sender and recipient address and then click on routes and then test,if all goes ok,it is gud,if it gives error like no route from ..., then click on explain ,it will tell you what is the error coming

Let me know if it helps

Thanks for the replies.

I tried the routing test but all is okay there.

There is no error at receiver address.

To investigate more further, what we found that mails are successfully sent and recieved to

email=subdomain.abc.com but they fail to receive at email=abc.com.

Any ideas?

Check ur SPAM mail folder for email=abc.com, sometimes there is a setting which deletes all the spam mail immediately when mail goes to spam folder. If its there deactivate it.

Also try to perform a traceroute of the email=abc.com from ur SAP Server.

Looks like this is problem of your mail server.

I would ask the SMTP relay team about their configuration.

I think the problem is on their server, not on SCOT configuration.

Thanks for your time.

Under SCOT " * " is stated so I think that is not an issue and yes xyz=abc.com is a valid domain address and mails are succesfully sent and received via Microsoft Outlook.

And, RFC Connection is fine as when tested.

SMICM = SMTP Service exist and port number as 0.

But to remind, if I send mail from xyz=abc.com to pqr=abc.com the mail is not received at Outlook but under SOST, the status is fine and indicates it is sent.

Mail is not been sent FROM same domain TO the same domain.

As, if i send mail from xyz=abc.com to samplename=mydomain.com the mail is sent and recieved succesfully

Please help.

Publish the trace log from SOST.

Hi Park,

Check

sm59 for RFC Connection

Check SCOT

Check SMICM if SMTP Service exist. If not make new entry and give the port number as 0 in address field give *.

Hope it helps.

Hi Park,

Check whether the domain abc.com has been added in the SCOT or not. This may be the possible reason.

Hi,

2 possibilities :

You did not authorise the address samplename=mydomain.com on the STMP node from SCOT

Your SMTP relay does not accept to send emails extaernally from xyz=abc.com.

Is xyz=abc.com a valid email address ?
