Material not maintained in plant

Former Member

Hi experts,

Whenever choosing a material in a project, I get the same error message:

Material XXXXXXX not maintained in plant XXXX

We don't need to store the specific material in the plant, but we want to plan the future purchasing needed for the project.

¿How can we avoid this check?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Neil

One correction - you do it in MM01 - Create Material Master. Copy the material to same material number, giving new plant.

Thanks a lot, that helped....

Is there any other way for the system not to check the plant in which the material is defined against our project's?

Kind regards,

Neil

I think you always need to maintain plant, but I'm not sure... Sorry.

Thanks,

Does anyone have another idea? The thing is, I need a material for a project, and I know the company is getting it (has it in a plant, or has an out. agreement to purchase it).

Why can't I include it unless I know the plant for which it was defined?

I can't see the logic right now...

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

You can check the same in MM60 transcation Code.

Enter the material number and press execute

the system will populate the details about in which plant it is available.

HI

You can extend a material in a plant with a copy control of the material in MM01.

Hi,

You need to go to MM02 and extend the material master to the plant for which you're running the project. Use the copy function.

Hi,

Please check whether the plants parameter are maintained for the plant in inventory management.

Also check whether material valuation and quantity updations are checked in OMS2.
