Hi gurus,
Inside SAPinst gui, we have given many options for a SAP installation.
I have installed the Central Service Instance and configure the 1st
MSCS node from SAPinst normal installation path, which is SAP ERP 2005
_Support Release 2 > SAP Systems > MS SQL Server > HA System > Based on
AS ABAP.
Wherereas, my DBInstance was installed from SAP ERP 2005 Support
Release 2 > Add. S/w life-Cycle > System Copy > MS SQL Server > Target
System > HA System > Based on AS ABAP.
Does it matter? For DBInstance, we have choosen the system copy because
we want to restore from offline backup. In this case, should I have
install the ASCS and MSCS node from system copy path rather? As we are now having problem in installaing the DBInstance. The error given was FCO-00011 step dGetSchemas error.
Regards
Chin
Hi Chin,
One way to do this is to complete a normal installation of ECC without trying to restore the old database and then follow the system copy procedures to restore the old data.
This will ensure that the DB and the application server are working before you restore the old data.
Hope that helps.
