Hi

To all SAP GURU,

Need help. I'm trying to apply a new sap license, but unfortunately error messages occur.

bash-3.00$ ./saplicense -install ifile=license.txt

      • ERROR: data in file license.txt incomplete(143/175)

Data: SID, CKEY, INSTNO, EXPDATE, LKEY, SYSID

1 1 1 1 0 1

saplicense: Error reading license data from file license.txt

bash-3.00$

I also tried to install the license manually but still no luck, it just hanged in the license key field.

Hope you guys have the solution for this.

Thank you.

V

You have moved to different hardware, so hardware key must have changed. Check it and apply for new license.

Hi Guys,

I already logged in as SAP*. but still I cannot delete the existing license and i cannot install the new license.

The machine is new. I also tried to install the new license that we got from SAP.

Here's the error from CLI.

bash-3.00$ ./saplicense -delete

Specify your SAP System ID:

SAP SYSTEM ID = XXP

Specify your hardware key:

HARDWARE KEY = W123456789

Specify the product ID(e.g. R3_BASIS, R3_ORA...) :

PRODUCTID = R3_ORA

saplicense: delete license failed

      • Can not find specified license

bash-3.00$ ./saplicense -show

saplicense: no license entries found

bash-3.00$ ./saplicense -temp

Specify your SAP System ID:

SAP SYSTEM ID = XXP

saplicense: Temporary license NOT installed

      • No old or expired license found

bash-3.00$ ./saplicense -test

Protocol saplicense test:

      • Read sapsytem name

saplicense: test failed

Hi,

You can login to 000 client with SAP* even when there exists no license installed.

Since the database is up once check the table consisting License as follows:

SQL> Conn / as sysdba

SQL> select * from sap<SID>.mlicheck;

The output tells u which license in installed.

If nothing exists,You request key newly in service market place since u had done an heterogeneous copy and mention the details clearly and install again.

Hope it Works,

Regards,

Kalyan.

Hi Arvin Urlanda,

I thing so while applying license in SAP Service market place ,you have given wrong details like os,db,SID,Hardware key. Please check it once.once you get the license go to -->slicense -->New license ,any existing license is there delete the license and then go to -->install upload the license file which you got from SAP.

Hi krishna murthy,

I can only install the license in OS command line. I cannot login to SAP GUI.

I already tried the following options:

./saplicense -delete ( no existing license)

./saplicense -temp ( no existing or expired license)

./saplicense -install ifile=license.txt

(*** ERROR: data in file license.txt incomplete(143/175)

Data: SID, CKEY, INSTNO, EXPDATE, LKEY, SYSID

1 1 1 1 0 1

saplicense: Error reading license data from file license.txt )

./saplicense -install (manually) - hanged in License Key Field

( how many characters is the license key? I only copy and paste the LKey from the license.txt that I recieved from SAP)

Thank you,

vin

Check SAP Note [746402|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=746402]

As per this note it should be 24 char or approx 400 char.

Best way as it says - possibility of incorrect license key....

as they suggests - best way is to send it to XX-SER-LIKEY as attachment

Even though the license is expired, you will be able to login to SAP system using SAP* user id. Login as SAP* and go to transaction SLICENSE and click on "New License" and then apply the license from there.

This should work if your license file which you received from SAP is correct.

Hello Arivin, Could you please provide us some more details like OS DB you are using and SAP version.

Also, If you are using HP-UX or AIX as your OS try installing it from OS level from SAPLICENSE command.

Hope it helps.

Hi Amber_S,

We're using ECC 6.0

OS: Solaris 10

SAP Version: ECC 6

DB: Oracle 10g

What happened was, we mirror the OS to a different SUN Server and restore all the SAP data to its storage.

I already started its oracle and sap application. But I cannot login to the SAP system.

thanks,

vin

>we mirror the OS to a different SUN Server and restore all the SAP data to its storage

Did you get a license key specific for this "mirror", or are you trying to use the license key from the "original"? License keys are specific to the CPU.
