Linking URL's to Document Info Records - error "File Extension not allowed

I get error message 26 504 "File extension xxx not allowed for workstation application PM" when attempting to link a URL to a Document Info Record. This is despite doing all the configuration suggested by Christoph Hopf in a previous thread on this same topic. Could you please advise what to do to fix the problem?

Config settings implemented, but not working are:

Settings for using URLs in Document Managment

1. Settings in transaction DC30:

In transaction DC30 you have to create a new workstation application which is able to handle URLs. For example create application called “HTM” and define file format *.htm and *.html to it. Please make sure that the flag “Data check off” is set.

Afterwards go to subfolder „Define workstation application in network” and maintain the different application types (display, edit, print) and assign the parameter %AUTO% to it.

2. Settings in transaction DC20:

Within transaction DC20 you have to choose or maintain a frontend type like “PC” first.

I found the best solution was to maintain file extension as star.star (sorry star symbol does not display)to allow files of any type to be linked. As we are not checking in documents there is no problem with doing this.

Check once if you have maitained the file extension properly for the workstation application.
