Dear S Kumar,

If you have implemented CO-Module, along with FI-Module, and you have activated Controlling Area, Controlling documents, flow transaction Values from FI to CO. In simple terms, CO-Docs are Managements' Reporting Documents.

Number Ranges, for Controlling Documents Types are defined in T. Code: KANK

Important: No. Ranges, defined in CO is not Fiscal Year Dependent. The No. Range, used in FI is not the same No. Range used in CO.

Most Importantly, You should never transport No. Ranges, always create then in target system.

Hi kumar

In Controlling area we have to check the boxes profit center , cost center etc if we want to generate Controlling document after billing ,

Secondly if the profit center , cost center are maintained in MMR then also we need to check the boxes in controlling area

If you want to generate any controlling document then you need to check boxes in the controlling area

Hi Kumar

Generally the purpose of a controlling document is to generate a report ,apart from reports there will be other uses also .

If you ask your FI/CO consultant then he can give more clarity on Controlling.
