Hi All,
I need to integrate MDM with LDAP.
As mentioned in the MDM console , we have to add a new field to LDAP server - MDMRoles.
1. Please tell me the way out - if adding the new field is not possible .
2. what should be the contents of this field and how the authentication is done at MDM end.
3. How to add MDM administrator role in LDAP server.
Regards
Shilpa

Hi Shilpa,
MDM and LDAP integration in not possible using MDM system 5.5. Same other functions on role and user management will be available on MDM 7.1

Hi Simona ,
I have already gone through the threads and not found them useful.
I need to know the following things:
1. After MDM -LDAP integration - If I want to integrate the Portal(EP), would that be supported with MDM 5.5 or is it only supported in MDM 7.1?
2. If Portal - LDAP and MDM-LDAP are integrated , do we still need to create user mapping for each user for MDM system in Portal or will it be authenticated via LDAPand no user mapping will be required.

Shilpa
Hi Shilpa,
LDAP Support is provided by both SAP MDM 5.5 as well as 7.1 version.
Refer http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmdm71/helpdata/en/8e/9f9c427055c66ae10000000a155106/frameset.htm (Help guide for SAP MDM 7.1)
Secondly inspite of integrating MDM-LDAP and EP-LDAP, you need to define the user mappings because this relation is used to perform single sign on for accessing MDM via EP as a front end.
Hope it helps.
Thanks,
Minaz
Hi Minaz,
Thank you for your reply.
Can you please help me in verifying the steps I have followed in configuring LDAP-MDM.
1. Delete users from MDM
2. Create roles in MDM (in a specific repository) - One Admin user and one read only role.
3. Create user in LDAP with Department (or memberOf) - role created in MDM.
4. Update the mds.ini [MDM LDAP] section .
Please correct if something wrong with the above steps.
Also please tell me how to proceed further.
Regards
Shilpa
