Movement Type Difference

Could you please help me understand the relevance of the Moving Type field in schedule Line category and MIGO screen?

Dear Kumar,

-->Based on the movement type the goods movement will take place againest the scheduleline.

-->If scheduleline category movement type field contains the movement type 601, system will know this schecduleline belongs to the delivery then Posst goods issue (PGI).

-->If the scheduleline category containes the 651 movement type system will know that this scheduleline belongs to the returns

For Example CP,CN and DN scheduleline categories.

-->In MIGO movement type related to the Goods receipt.

Dear Kumar

In the schedule line category you set the movement type to control which changes to quantities and values are posted to inventory accounting

Inventory management is responsible for maintainig the movement types

In nutt shell Movement type has the major accounting impact with respect to inventory management

For normal goods issue in sales it is 601

For reurns it is 651

For consignment fill up it is 631

Like this choosing the correct movement type will update or hit the correct inventory accounts for those stocks

The movement type in schedule lines categories of SD impact goods issue

The movement type in MIGO of MM impact goods receipt

So that it sets the necessary inventory accounts

In t code OMJJ you can see what all controls a movement type has?
