Could not connect to message server Error:service "sapmsMSG" unknown

Hello Folks,

When iam trying to create a Group in GUI 640 iam getting the message "message server" not found.

Detailed Error description:

NPGetServByName:service 'sapmsMSG' not found.

Please suggest the step by step process for establishing message server connection.

Hai,

In 'Group server selection' after selecting the SID, Message Server will be displayed correspondingly to the System ID if it can be found then you must input the message server name or its IP address corresponding to the system ID.

Try to enter the FQDN or IP address of the selected SID.

Go to drive:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc , open the services file (notepad for example) add in last line

sapmsMSG 36NN/tcp , where NN is the system number (try to check 3600 or 3601 if you do not know).

BUT Remember , after you add this line press on "enter" the last line in services file must be EMPTY
