SMD : access denied

Former Member

Dear all.

I have configured solution manager in order to obtain EWA Non Abap reports. I've installed in solution manager Enterprise manager, Wily introscope and agent for monitoring.

When I try to access http://<host>:<port>/smd I introduce user and password and I receive this message:

"You do not have sufficient rights to start Solution Manager Diagnostics"

I give all roles in ABAP and Java stack to user j2ee_admin and tried too with other users, but the problem persists, so I can configure anything.

Please, could you help me in this issue?

Best regards

Hi Alfonso,

in addition you can check if the JCo destination WEBADMIN is working correctly on your Solution Manager system. This authorization error can also be caused by connectivity issues.

To do so, go to Visual Admin, JCo Destinations, stop the WEBADMIN destination and restart it. Most likely it is an authorization error or user user is locked.

Thanks for your fast replies.

I have looked in visual that parameter ume.R3.connection.master.client points to 100 client, so it's all right.

But in JCO Provider there is any JCO. It must be manually created or some configuration step is missing?

Best regards.

Hi Alfonso,

you probaly need to perform the Diagnostics Setup for your Solution Manager and your managed system. Please have a look at the Installation and Upgrade Guide for Diagnostics available at http://service.sap.com/diagnostics (for Soution Manager < EhP1, for EhP1 you can use Transaction SOLMAN_SETUP).

Best regards

Hi,

please double-check if the J2EE Engine (UME connection parameter) is configured to connect to the same ABAP client in which you have assigned roles to j2ee_admin.
