Assignment of Connection object address to Business partner

Former Member

Dear all,

We have created the address type CON_OBJECT under IMG>Cross-application components>SAP Business partner>Business partner>Basic Settings>Address determination>Define address types.

When we create a contract partner using transaction FPP1, this address type is not getting assigned from the standard address. This is working as expected.

When we do a move-in for this contract partner, then the system automatically assigns the connection object address to the address type CON_OBJECT and also it terminates (populates the end date) of the current standard address with the current system date - 1 and assigns the connection object address with the start date as current system till 31.12.9999.

So the connection object address becomes the standard address of the business partner and this address gets displayed in the Address tab of the business partner.

Do any one how this can be controlled? Is there any configuration or any event during move-in, that can stop this assignment?

Please let me know in case of any clarifications.

Thanks in advance,

Sakthi

Hello,

You can distinguish the different kind of addresses in table BUT021_FS.

Field ADR KIND = XXDEFAULT means that this is the standard address of

the business partner. If ADR KIND = CON_OBJECT this means that this is

the address that is linked to the connection object which is directly

linked to the premise. As a customer can move-in to different premises

its possible that there are several addresses with ADR KIND = CON_OBJECT

.

It depends on your customizing settings which address

is suggested during move-in. You can define it here:

Transaction SPRO

-> SAP Reference-IMG

-> SAP Utilities

-> Customer Service

-> Process Execution

-> Move-In/Out

-> Move-In

-> Define Move-In Control Parameters at Document Level

I hope this information is of help to you.

Kind Regards

Olivia

Hi Olivia,

Thanks for your reply.

It solved the problem. But in that IMG link, SAP has given a blank company code entry in which we have to remove the settings for "Adjust customer standard address". We have already removed the settings for our company code but once we remove this settng for the entry with blank company code, then it is working as expected.

The connection object address is just assigned to the business partner under address type CON_OBJECT and the standard address (address type XXDEFAULT) remains unchanged.

Thanks a lot

Regards,

Sakthi.
