problem while saving the data in mdm after checkout using Java MDM API

Hi Friends ,

We are using MDM 5.5 sp16. And MDM java APIs with webdynpro java.

I am trying to check out the record in non exclusive mode and saving the record.But at the time of saving it is throwing an server exception that -> Recrod is Protetcted.

Even i tried to check out the record manually in the MDM Data manager and and try to save the data .in that case also saying that record is protected.

What would be the reason .In normal scenario check out means user can modify the things and save the data in mdm and finally will do the checkIn.

could any body please provide your valuable pointers.

Hi,

Check whether the record you are trying to check out is protected or not. Select the record, right click on it, select Protection -> Unprotect (would be enabled in case the record is protected).

Hi

Even we are facing the same issue and even after we UnProtect the record, the problem persists and we are unable to change or modify record in MDM.

Temporary solution could be to re-start the MDM services.

We have also raised a OSS note on the same with SAP, hopefully this will get sorted out.
