Hi Senthil,

Just to clarify ur question.

Requirement is U receive 100 kg from Vendor A, u perform GR and stock is in QI with inspection lot created. Then u send 1 kg of material to other Vendor B for testing. As u said it is a destructive test u get only Results not the material.

So your question is how to draw this 1 kg from inspection stock and send to Vendor B

Is it so ?

Dear gajesh,

If 5 kg of material is sent for testing they are receiving 0.5 kg of material . if you are sending the material how to withdraw the material from quality inspection stock.

Dear Kumar,

Pls try to understand the concept of this external processing operation. It will create a Service PO for that particular operation. You need to perform the Services entry sheet for evaluating the performance of the services provider / external test agency. And as so far the quality posting matters so pls understand the basi concept of stock movement for .......to quality or quality to ............

Here the entire quantity becomes liability of QC till it get released. And they (QC) can also use the quantity through stock posting only. (SAP is designed in such way, in accordance to meet the regulatory requirements). So as answer to your question "How and when the quantity to be posted that is consumed by either the Vendor for testing purposed or spilled out (as your are saying, you sent 5kg and they received 0.5kg) in sample consumption at the time of stock posting only.

As per STD designed system the steps will be as below.

- A service PO will triggered as an interruption to the normal in-house testing scenario, and that particular operation will be claimed as externally processed.

- Services PO will be processed as per service PO there for the quantity that is sent outward for testing\ as samples. Material Outward / and then Inward entry will be done as per service entry sheet, talk to your MM guy to learn the process in details, or an written documents are available in the link pasted by Gajesh in his last reply.

- Now the external vendor will process his task till then that operation declared as externally processed will be opened. but the next operations can processed if there any.

- As the vendor replies the test result that may contains the sample reconciled.

- Now perform the services entry sheet for it.

- Now close the operation, attach the relevant docs there if there any and perform UD now.

- Post the stock, here post the quantity to sample that is consumed by the services provider.

I hope it may have cleared your doubts, if not pls come back with query.

Regards,

Shyamal
