Dear Friends,

In the status grp which we maintain in Incompletion procedure what does the "X" mark suggests?.....for example in status grp 02 both general and delivery are marked as X so it means without filling those particular fields both sales and delivery documents cannot b processed......this is what I interpret..correct me if am wrong.....Thanks in advance

Dear Kumar

Those columns represents the incompletion status of an item in sale order and delivery. While accessing the respective TCodes, whether it should give a warning message or error message; the control is in your hands by clicking the Warning tab.

thanks

Dear Lakshmipathi,

Thanks for ur input......even in partner fn we maintain incompletion procedure that means we are instructing that few fields sud b maintain or not....now in OBD2 also we maintain the fields as optional/required/display like that.......when such maintanence are done at obd2 then whats the point of maintaining incompletion procedure in partner fn?........I think am not confusing you but am confused thats the reason why this question emerges......Thanks in advance

Dear Kumar

Yes I am totally confused as to what exactly you need.

For information, whatever controls you maintain in Partner Function, it is applicable to master datas whereas the controls you maintain in OVA2 are transaction based controls. This is the main difference. If this has not cleared your doubt, you need to be clear as to where exactly you are asking and which fields you are comparing

thanks

Dear Saravanakumar

First of all in completion log is for Sales documents to check whether the fields are incomplete, if so what will happen in the subsequent process for that sales document and where should we stop and till where the doc should be allowed to process?

For your qn of dening error procedures for partner functions is

Procedure 06 for contact person CP is status 00 no field is checked

Procedure 07 for customer K is status nil no field checked

Procedure 08 for vendoris status 02 means generally incomplete and incomplete for delivery

Procedure 09 for personnel no is status nil no field checked

This is Standard SAP settings

If you really look at this eventhough the incompletion log is available for partner functions it takes only effect only if vendor is added in the sales document and for others as if it is not there

To understand Incompletion log SAP documentation of its each img activity (What Mr. Amit pasted) and F1 help is sufficient

So dont confuse yourself with OBD2 that has got entirely different purpose which gives a lot of meaning to account group and CMR and with field selection in CMR can lot of unnecessary things can be avoided and system performance can be improved

Raja

Dear S Kumar,

Answer to your query is already given by SAP, in to Help-file, maintained with the functionality.

SPRO --> IMG --> SD --> Basic Functions --> Log of Incomplete Items --> Define Status Group

Here, instead of executing the function, click on to File-icon. The same description is pasted here:

Define Status Groups

In this IMG activity, you use status groups to define the status of
incomplete sales and distribution documents. Then assign the status
group to the fields in an incompleteness procedure.

In the status group, you define which functions may be carried out for
an incomplete sales and distribution document, or for the items where a
field entry is missing. You use this function to block a document for
delivery, billing, or pricing. In addition, you can check at header*
level whether the general data is complete.

     Example

Fields that are defined for deliveries do not also have to apply to the
billing document. If you allocate the relevant status group to these
fields in the incompleteness procedure, you can create a billing
document for the incomplete sales order but not a delivery.

     Activities

     1. Check to what extent you can use the defaults for status groups that
are defined in the standard system.

     2. Change the existing status groups according to your requirements.
         Create new groups, if necessary.

     3. Afterwards specify status groups for fields in the incompleteness
procedures (see section Define Incompleteness Procedures).

I hope, this would answer your query. If not, Please explain.

Best Regards,

Amit
