Availability Check

Former Member

Hi All,

I need to map a trading scenario.

If the stock of the required material is available then the system should confirm the quantity when the sales order is saved. But if the partial quantity is available then the system should confirm only the available quantity and raise a purchase requisition for remaining quantity.

e.g. If the sales order is for 50 quantity & the available stock is only 30 then the system should confirm 30 quantity and raise a PR for the remaining 20 quantity.

Please suggest.

Hi Vijay,

The availability check rule is defining what the result of the availability check in the sales order should be.This can take the form of either a pop-up window where the user can select either a delivery proposal or a complete delivery or it could take the form of the system automatically selecting a delivery proposal, a one time delivery, or a complete delivery with out a pop up window being shown.

In your case please follow the Delivery proposal method. Here system confirm the quantity it has available for the requested delivery date.It will then create another confirmation for the resulting outstanding material for the end of the lead time or for when now stock will be avilable.

The above scenario is when your company is manufacturing the material.

But if it is to be procured from vendor you need to follow the individual purchase order process.

Can you give the clear requirement.

1. Is it manufacturing material

2. Manufacturing as well as procuring from vendor

Hi Jagan,

Thanks a lot. Answer to your queries:

It is purely trading material.Generally the material is in the stock. But it may happen that at some time the material is out of stock. For this we need that the system should raise a PR if sufficient stock is not available otherwise if the stock is available then it should confirm it.
