Multiple Quotes in a Single Response by a Bidder

Hi All,

Please consider this scenario where a buyer requests for External Services of a Java Developer and sends out a bid to 2 bidders/vendors.

Now:

Would the bidder/vendor be able to provide the buyer with multiple quotes (i.e. one for java developer with 2 years of work experience and second for java developer for 4 years of work experience) in the same bid response.

Note:

While creating the bid we had checked the option "Bidder can Add Item", so that the bidder/vendor is able to add multiple lines of items BUT We found that when bidder adds a new item bidder/vendor it does not allow the bidder to select the product.

Can anyone suggest how we can solve the problem such that the bidder/vendor can submit two quotes for the same item.

Following are the details:

SRM Version: SRM 5.0

Scenario: Classic

Service to be Procured: Java Developer

Try this .

1.Create SC for 1 line item (Java developer)

2. Configure such that the SC goes to Sourcing (or auto create Bid invitation)

3.Purchaser converts SC into a Bid invitation. Activate "Bidder can add items" check box in the bid invitation.

4. Bidder login to bid invitation. Enter price for first line item (2 yrs exp) and add second line item (5 yrs exp) and submit the bid.

5.Purchaser open the bids, accept only the second line item and reject (Check box under Reject column) the first lione item.

6. Purchaser process the bid and generate PO for the accepted bid.

This way you could achieve your requirement. Let me know if any questions.

Hi Sharad,

In your Scenario if the Bidder has to provide multiple resumes for Java Developer, he can make use of the Process Bid > MyNotes Tab and Enter his Comments and also attach multiple resumes .

But the way Bidding process works is one Bid invitation to one Bid Response.

Hope this info helps.

Thanks
