ABAP system too slow

Hi all,

This is a new ECC 6.0 system, did not upload any data, it is very fresh system.

When i am doing any abap transaction, it is taking for ever, the control is never coming back.

like if i go to se37 and give a function name, and execute, the control i snever coming back, same is the case with se 19, cmod etc. it is not even giving any error message.

But this is not he case with other functional trasactions, like me21n, etc, tehy areworking fine, and successfully creating new POs.

I have never come accross this kind of problem.

Do we have to install any patches in this system.

Thanks.

Hi,

Looks like SGEN has not run for all the software components. Try to run SGEN for SAP basis and abap and you should see increase in speed.

Hope this helps.

Isn't that exactly what Olivier recomended???...

Try to run SGEN for SAP basis and abap and you should see increase in speed.

If its a new system doing a SGEN of all components its the norm.

Juan,

I recommended SGEN for those two software components as he was not finding the same problem in other functional areas. I assumed that SGEN was executed for those software components.

Ideally SGEN must run for all the software components on newly installed system.

Hope this clarifies the issue.

Hi,

If memory allocated for some database related transaction is very low means you can expect this type of strange errors.

check with basis consultant for more reasons.

Thanks
