Hi Experts,
What is dummy RFC. Where this dummy rfc will be used and for what use? What is the content this Dummy RFC contains. Please help me out with examples.
Regards,
Hi Amruth,
Dummy RFCs are the RemoteFunction Modules that we normally use in RFC lookup environment where in the data in the elment would get filled by the value that this RFC gets from R/3 during mapping program execution .We go for it when we dont have the exact RFC that gets the required details for testing purpose later, when we get the correct RFC we would replace the dummy one with correct one .For more on RFC look ups example.

Hi Amruth,
We generally use a Dummy RFC if we want to send/trigger an RFC from R/3 asynchronously.
Dummy RFC will not have any import parameters, and will use export or tables parameters.
Please find the link below for a requirement which used a dummy RFC .

Hi Amruth,
SAP uses the terminology 'Dummy' for testing purpose on the system.this dummy projects can be application of SAP.it is just like normal application thought it is not meant to use in live project.
SAP provides rfcping program to check the functionality.Hope it might be helpful to you.
