Hi,
Make sure have you created all services including sapdp00, sapgw00. sapmsSID sapgw00s in your services file.
If all configuration you have done is correct, then make sure that if your server have other primary ip.
If it is change the ip accordingly in SM59.
Above mentioned are the standard configuration settings. if you are clear about all, then just make a restart your computer. It should work.

this problem is very old, but I hope that other users find my answer helpful.
We had the same error. Our SAP-System doesn´t open any RFC-Connection although nothing changed. The only thing was we rebootet our server. After this this error occured.
The solution was to reset the hostname buffer in TA sm51->GoTo->Hostname buffer

Majamil,
It seems instance number specified in rfc connection is wrong. You told that it automatically displayed but you didnt specify any where that you verified and corrected it. is 00 is instance number for your production system. If so ignore this. i seen only this is error.
Thanks,
Kiran.

Hi,
While configuring RFC destinations have u given any specific client number and username. If yes, check whether those clients are assigned with logical names(Else create using BD54).
Also check whether u have given system number along with host name.
Also check the port sapgw00 in dev system is opened or not.

but still i m facing same error.
if you understand that i m missing anything then quide me.
kindly read again my first post.
regareds,
HI Majamil,
Please login to your dev system and ping to your prd from command prompt if windows or from /sbin in unix.
If it's working fine then define Ip address in your entry in sm59.
Hope it solves your problem.
Cheers
Deepanshu

Hi Dear,
FYI.... i have already given the IP addres to remote end(PRD) and DEV systems and ping is replying on both servers . when i check the connection test from PRD then it successfully completed and while its Connection Test is not successfully completed from DEV.
while SM59 configuration is correct on both servers and i made new RFC for a test system which is exist in same LAN where DEV exist
regards.
Check the gateway trace file. It may be possible you password has been expired or locked.

Have you specified hostname or ip address in the RFC definition. If there is hostname make sure the entry shud be there in the hostfile.
