Hi,

I use R/3 4.7/Oracle on an MSCS cluster.

Whithout access to the Cluster administrator, you can use the SAPGUI to know the state of your cluster.

To know where is the database, use transaction ST04 : in the top of the screen , you will get a field

DB Server : Physical hostname which gives you the current Database node.

This should work the same with SQL Server, I suppose.

To know xhere is the SAP Cluster group (Central instance on R/3 4.7), connect with sapgui to the CI server (using the cluster alias) and use transaction ST06 --> Detail Analysis Menu --> Operating System Collector. You will see the name of CI physical host.

Regards,

Olivier

You might have Cluster Administrator installed. Open it. You may find two nodes. For which node the resources of the DB is ON is the active node for DB.
