CV01N - Copying a document using a template

If you want to create a new document in SAP, you can use CV01N to create the document. If you want to create a new document from another document, you can use a "template" document. This works if the document type of the new document and template are the same. However, I want to create a document (document type IDW) from a template document (document type DRW). Is there a way to do this? The reason we want to use the template option is to copy the object links of the source document to the target document.

hi,

We create document type to catgories various attributes of document under one category i.e doc type.. I believe there is no such facility to make document type by template in std. SAP DMS...
