Restart J2EE Engine by Developer Studio

Hi

The restart of j2ee engine by Developer Studio is disabled for some reason. The fuction "restart process" is grey in j2ee engine management in DS.

Does anyone know how can I enable it ? Is it by a configuration in Visual Administrator ?

After restarting the Server from NWDS, is the serever is in "started" state ?

I can´t restart the server from NWDS, that´s the point. The server is in Running state and I want to be able to restart it from NWDS.

first refresh the server state and stop the server and start the server .

are u getting any message for restarting the server. what is the version currently u are using (Ce Server).

Stop and Start the server by NWSD ? I have only the option to Restart the server instance, but the option is disabled (its grey, I can´t click on it).

The only way to restart the server is by unix command-line, but I want to be able to do this by NWDS.

The sap j2ee server version is 7.00 SP17.

Hi Victor,

Your basis need to some configurations in MMC and visual admin in order to start and stop the j2ee engine from NWDS other wise you cannot restart the j2ee engine from NWDS.

Hi Victor,

In NWDS the J2ee engine is connected using the SDM user and SDM user will not have administrator rights to restart the server.So try assigning the administrator authentication to the sdmuser and check.
