Dropdown value from a filtered list to be passed as variable to a query

Hello,

I created a dropdown filtered list that retrieves values from a query : it works fine!

But when I use the selected value from the dropdown as variable to an other query, it does not work and I get some error messages ???

If I use the characteristic and not the result of the query as source for the dropddown, it works fine in the new query, but I want to prevent the dropdown to have too many possible values

The field is a profit center

Any idea,

Thanks,

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

the easiest way to test your drop down box is an expression field.

Creat an expression field and write the output of your drop down box into this field. So its possible to check if the drop down box submit the correct value.

After this step you can exchange the expression field with your second query.

Hi Thomas,

Are you using 'Dynamic entry list' for drop down? Are you passing value from drop down to BI query?

Kindly explain it and check where you get the problem.
