Dear Friends,
Can we maintain factory calender for the customer?...where is settings?.....reason for tis question is I always have a thought that only Org which is into production will maintain factory calender .........correct me if am wrong......
Yes you can assign Factory Calender to Customer also. Go to XD02, input the customer code and execute. There select Unloading Points tab in General Data where you can see a field Calender Key.
thanks

Hi Kumar
Factory calender is Client-independent.
So, you can NOT make factory calender for individual customer or client.
You can maintain Factory calender through SCAL or OVR3 as already suggested earlier also.
Factory calender is used to determine goods receiving hour and date. We assign the calender in General data >Unloading point tab, of the Customer master data of Ship-to-party.
Factory calender is also used for Periodic billing. In this case, we assign the Factory calender to the Customer master of the Payer in the Sale area data > Billing document tab , in the "Invoicing date" field.
Factory calender is also used for sending the "Invoice list" to the Head-office (Payer) for all its branches(Sold-to-parties) at regular interval. In this case, we assign the appropriate Factory calender to the Customer master of the Payer(Head-office) in the Sales area data > Billing document tab, in "Invoicing List Dates" field.
We also assign Factory calender in the Shipping point, which is used for calculating Pick/pack time and Loading time.
Also, we assign the Factory calender to the Route, which is used to calculate the Transit time for the Route.
So, if you will maintain Factory calender for individual client/customer then it will not match with other Client/customer and ultimately it will lead to business problems.
Therefore, Factory calender is Client-independent.

Dear Friend,
You cannot define factory calenders for individual Customers.
What you can do is in Sales order - Item Details - Sales A - There are two feilds for Delivery Date & Delivery Time. You can use this feilds to deliver the goods to Customer at appropriate date & time.
As fas as defining of Factory Calander for your company follow this:
IMG - SAP NetWeaver - General Settings - Maintain Calendar or T-code SCAL or OVR3.
Hope this helps...

Hi,
You can assign a calender for customer in customer master record under unloading points tab of General data.
this helps to determine on which days customer can receive your deliveries.
You can specify one of the calendars that are already defined for your system.

Hi
Approach this question logically
We maintain factory calendar for sales org and plant only
Take Reliance as client if we are doing implementation for Reliance we have to define factory calendars for the sales orgs and plants of Reliance
That means based on the input from the client we define factory calendards that what are the holidays we should take ,shift timings etc
How can we define the the work timings and holidays of the customers of Reliance
Logically it doesnt sound correect
