Mass upload of Material

Hi,

we have to do mass upload of material master which includes lot of classification / characteristics for a plant. could you please let me know how do we do this and which is the best method? ( BAPI or BDC)

Hi,

You can upload master data by using LSMW or SCAT.

Best way is BDC because,

1. BDC Program can be coded according to your requirement

2. BDC with session method will help you to run it in backgroud which is faster method for uploading data into SAP

Use direct input method using LSMW. The details are as:

For material master data:

Object: 0020

Method: 0000

Program: RMDATIND

For material classification

Object: 0130

Method: 0002

Program: RCCLBI03

Hi Arun,

If you are planning to transfer Material Master from one client to another, try using ALE using idocs (bd10).

We tried this approach in one of our recent project, it was pretty effective and hassle free.

You can opt for BDC. Work with your technical consultants on the same.
