Solution Manager platform need to be identical in System Landscape?

Dear Tech Masters,

I want to install Solution Manager on x86 IA32 machine , I have already installed Dev, Quality, both are on windows 2003 SP2 on x64 platform. Is it okay to install Solution Manager on different platform compare to other instances in the Landscape. I do not have any x64 machine, so I am using x86 based PC for this. it is mandatory to maintain the same platform for entire landscape. Please suggest.

Hi there,

Solution manager can be installed any system and monitor systems on various platforms. BTW, There are lot of documents on market place.

I am bit confuse with a SAP Note "1145779", Sol Man 7.0 Installation Note. where its clearly mentioned that Sol Man 7.0 can install on 64bit platform only. x64 or IA64. where as in service market place, Installation Media for Sol Man 7.0 is available for IA32 platform that including IA32 kernel, install master on IA32. Please suggest, If anybody experience the same, please provide me the solution.

I have installed twice central instances of Solman SR2 on 32 bit system during last four months. And I haven't found any problems. Note 1145779 seems to be for SR3 and I haven't tested this so far. If you have SR2 I can confirm that this works on 32 bit systems.

One small request, I am able to download SAP Solution Manager 7.0 SR3 Media from service market place/downloads, But no media for Solution Manager 7.0 SR2 / Solution Manager 4.0

( which is I think SR2 earlier ). If you have the URL / or can guide me to locate the download media in service market place would be very helpful for me. I have tried to search this on "SAP Software Distribution Center" no result found. I dont have the software dump for Sol Man 4.0. its my first Solution Manager Installation. Please help me.

You are rigth the Solman 7.0 based on SR3 NW tehnology , only for 64 bit installation, on 32 bit you only can install Dialog instances. About "4.0 SR3 system based on NW SR2"

you can ship this DVD from SAP, call to your acount manager.
