Enterprise Service Repository and Registry

I am studying the SOA architecture and I thought that were the same things, but reading some docs, I understand it's not so.

Can anyone explain me pleas what are the differences between these two things?

Thanks

Gabriele

Hi,

SOA is a concept.

ESR is a SAP software component which can exist in PI 7.1 oe CE 7.1.

But if ESR is a software component, which is the relationship between it and the registry?

Thanks

Gabriele

Hi Gabriele,

ESRepository is a container that holds all the objects that have been desingned and ready to be used as services .Where as Registry is a place we jus mention them as cataloge or menu so that we can discover the services that are available for the customer and make use of them by further navigation and subscribing.

Thanks,

Ram.
