Multiple serial #s for an equipment in PM

Can we assign multiple serial # for an equipment.

Actually we require that

one serial # is manufacturer assigned serial #.

second number will be assigned to the equipment when it is sent for the refurbishment.

Dear SIM,

Hope you are aware of the field ManufSerialNo in the manufacturer data field in the general data page of the equipment master . The other serial number however you can maintain throug serial number profile.

Are there any additional field available for entering this data.

In our case when a equipment become defective, we move it into our substore using mat # and serial # with status defective.

When we create refurbishment order for the particular material # & serial # equipment, a new number is assigned to the material (equipment) for this particular purpose.

See if the equipment becomes defective you are moving into sub store with a combination of material and serial number

if you want to do refurbishment then how come you can use different materail with serial no for same equipment .it is not possible
