Error : com.sap.ip.bi.alv.pdf.ALVExportPDFException while using Print PDF

Hi All,

I am using Visual composer v 7.1 ehp1 sp1 version.

And i need to use the print version in PDF format function in a model.

I get this error

Print version: error while generating print version; see SAP Note 990830

com.sap.ip.bi.alv.pdf.ALVExportPDFException: com.sap.tc.webdynpro.model.webservice.exception.WSModelRuntimeException: Exception on creation of service metadata for WS metadata destination 'SALV_WD_EXPORT_PDF' and WS interface 'wsalvpdfVi_Document'. One possible reason is that the metadata destination 'SALV_WD_EXPORT_PDF' has not been properly configured; check configuration.

Can anyone solve this issue?

Hi Deepa,

first, please follow the instructoins in note 990830.

Second, you need to make sure that the Adobe Data Services (ADS) are configured on your machine.

If you do not know how to confiure the ADS on your system please reply.

Hi Yogev,

I dont know how to configure ADS but i just when through a blog below:

/people/bv.pillai/blog/2007/01/09/webdynpro-abap-alv-print-versionpdf

which says BI java need to be installed but there is no BI-java for SAP netweaver CE.

It would be great if you tell me how to configure ADS so that print pdf works in visual composer.

I agree with Yogev, you only have to follow the instructions of Yogev. I also have a VC7.11 installed and after setting up the ADS you can use the print functionality of the ALV in VC.

Hi ,

its simple :-).

click on your tabel from the configurtion panel in the design tab you will be seeing a option For ALV settings.

rightside down of your VC .
